Welcome to connect with your compassion and dive deep within with your breath in this full board retreat! Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful method for self-exploration, which utilizes the healing power of breath, music, bodywork and safe space. During the retreat we will also do practices to enhance our compassion, focusing especially on self-compassion.
On friday we land at the venue, meet the group and immerse in compassion-practices. On saturday we will have two breathwork-sessions, where everyone is breathing in one and sitting in one. During the whole retreat we will provide good tools for integration and especially sunday we compassionately deepen the integration process. During evenings there is possibility of a sauna and hole-in-the-ice swimming.
Retreat is held in Ystävyyden Majatalo (Kalkkilantie 74, 25110 Kruusila, https://ystavyydenmajatalo.fi). The venue is in the middle of Turku and Helsinki and you can reach it easily by bus from both directions. Food and accommodation are included in the price. Along with tasty vegetarian food there will be snacks and tea/coffee during the whole weekend. Accommodations are mainly in personal rooms.
No previous experience of Holotropic Breathwork is required. We will use english and/or finnish, depending on the language of the participants. Translation is provided if needed.

Facilitators of the retreat
Valde Orrenmaa
Valde lives in Kaarina, in a commune with his friends and cats. He started the Holotropic Breathwork training in 2016 and got certified in 2019, and has been organizing breathwork events since 2018. Valde has a lot of appreciation and passion for this method, it has deepened his own path in very meaningful ways and has teached him to value deeply non-judging, supportive and empowering space for inner growth. He has a masters degree in comparative religion and has been academically and practically interested in non-ordinary states of consciousness, meditation, psychedelics, buddhism and other mystically oriented branches of religions. He is trainer and organizer in finnish psycare and harm reduction organization Kotilo. He is also a writer, aguahara-practitioner, terminal care volunteer and has started cognitive brief-therapist and mindfulness teacher trainings. One of his passions is to integrate yogic-lifestyle and a compassionate way of being into modern society. He loves nature, meditation, music, dancing, karate & kobudo and genuine connection with other beings.
Jussi Alihanka
Jussi lives in Kemiö, and he is a psychiatrist and integrative psychotherapist. 2023 he got certified as Holotropic Breathwork facilitator. His interest about the healing potential of the non-ordinary states of consciousness comes from his own experiences with different practices. Jussi is together with Valde the founder of the Holotropic Finland and is going to work passionately to make this practice more known and more available in Finland.
Iida Hokkanen
Iida discovered Holotropic breathwork in 2019 and since then the method has been a significant part of her own healing journey. The safe, loving and empowering breathwork community has felt so much like home that she was inspired to start the holotropic breathwork facilitator training in 2022.
Enabling holistic well being and body-mind-soul coherence for individuals, groups and communities is Iida’s calling. She is a nature connection guide, gives energy healing treatments and will also become certified as a breathwork coach later on in 2023. Her own ways for connecting with her authentic self include exploring voice and movement, doing breathwork and experiencing the nature.
In her daily life Iida is a Human Resource professional, mother of a wonderful 8-year girl and servant to a fluffy and furry dog.
