Thomas Liska
Thomas Liska has been active in the international Holotropic Breathwork community for more than two decades. He founded the Holotropic Association Europe (HAE) to support cooperation among European facilitators, training organizations, and teachers, and to strengthen the exchange of experience within the international Holotropic community.
Over the years, he has been involved in a large number of workshops, training modules, retreats, and conferences across Europe and beyond, including Austria, Ukraine, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Spain, Turkey, Israel, Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Finland. In these contexts, he has worked in organizational, educational, and facilitation roles, as well as in technical coordination and hosting functions.
Contribution to Holotropic Work in Europe
Thomas Liska has been involved in the organization and facilitation of a range of training modules and multi-week training events in Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Czech Republic. He has also participated in a number of international conferences and larger-scale events within the Holotropic field.
Among these events are collaborations and participations with Stanislav Grof, Brigitte Grof, Christina Grof, Tav Sparks, and other members of the international Holotropic community, including:
Events with Stanislav Grof and Brigitte Grof at Burg Schlaining, Austria
An international event in Basel, Switzerland, with approximately 300 participants
The EUROTAS Conference “Beyond Materialism – Transpersonal Conference” with Stanislav Grof
An event in Kyiv, Ukraine, with Stanislav Grof and Christina Grof
An event at the University of Budapest, Hungary, with Stanislav Grof
The Holos Conference in the Czech Republic with Stanislav Grof

Training and Certification Work
In 2013, Thomas Liska was part of the first certification team of the Walch Holotropic Training in Austria, together with Tav Sparks. This process contributed to the certification of approximately 35 facilitators within that training program.
Development of Training Modules and Educational Formats
Within the context of European training programs, Thomas Liska has supported the introduction and development of several training topics and educational formats.
These include modules such as “Ethics of Caring,” which was reintroduced into the international training curriculum in 2018 in collaboration with Kylea Taylor after a period of absence. He also supported the development of the module “Trauma and Transformation,” based on the observation that many participants in holotropic processes encounter biographical trauma and integration processes.
Additional modules and teaching contributions include:
Healing the Fragmented Self – Jean Farrell (Austria)
Who Am I? – Jean Farrell (Austria)
The Art of Living and Dying – Jean Farrell (Austria)
Addictions and Attachments – Paul McCormack (Austria)
Meditation and Non-Duality – Peter Köllerer (Austria)
Traumatransformation – Sonja Busch (Austria, Germany, Italy)
Ethics of Caring – Kylea Taylor (USA/Austria)
Facilitation Training – Juanjo Segura (introduced in Austria in 2025)
Thomas Liska has also encouraged experienced members of the Holotropic community to take on teaching roles within these programs.
Holotropic Association Europe (HAE)
The establishment of the Holotropic Association Europe created an additional organizational framework for educational activities in Europe. Within this framework, new module topics were introduced, experienced facilitators were invited to teach, and several training formats were further developed.
These initiatives contributed to the diversification of training content and supported the ongoing development of Holotropic Breathwork education in Europe, while remaining connected to the international Holotropic community.
